Marbella is the most famous of all Costa del Sol resorts and has over twenty-five kilometres of beaches. The resort has many five star Marbella Hotels which include the Guadalpin Marbella. Puerto Banus next door is also considered very upmarket and has many great restaurants and five star Puerto Banus hotels which include the Guadalpin Puerto Banus. Many of the beaches are close to the centre of Marbella and back into a boardwalk known as the Paseo Maritimo. Marbella is known for its very exclusive beach clubs which include Nikki Beach Marbella, Puro Beach Marbella, Ocean Club Marbella, Mistral Beach Marbella and the Buddha Beach Marbella.
Marbella’s Golden Mile is where one will find the most popular of Marbella’s beaches and starts on the western side of Marbella and stretches up to the harbour of Puerto Banus. Marbella beaches have first class facilities and amenities which include showers, toilets, life guards, play areas for children, sun loungers and parasols for hire, water sports, refreshments and parking.
The Playa El Pinillo is located off the Carretera de Cadiz on the Elviria side of Marbella and is very popular with the locals. The Playa El Pinillo is a golden sandy beach, almost two kilometres in length and near some Marbella Hotels and has a good range of facilities and amenities. The Playa El Pinillo is off the beaten tourist track and a bit of an insider secret.
The Playa de la Fontanilla is located off the Paseo Maritimo and is one of Marbella’s best beaches with very dark sand. The Playa de Fontanilla has a good range of facilities and amenities including sun loungers and parasols for hire, life guards, bars and a marina.
The Playa de Guadalmina is located off the Paseo Maritimo de San Pedro Alcantara and is known for its watersports which includes surfing and windsurfing. The Playa Guadalmina is located near the historic San Pedro area of Marbella and there are also a good range of Marbella bars nearby.
Playa de Nagueles is located off the Carretera de Cadiz and is lined by the Paseo Maritimo Boardwalk. The Playa Nagueles is one of Marbella’s beast beaches and there are a number of Marbella Hotels and Marbella beach clubs close by. Amenities include pedalos and wind surfers for hire.
Playa de Puerto Banus Nueva Andalucia is located off the Avenida de la Ribera. This fantastic beach has fine white sand and is very busy in the hot summer months. The Playa de Puerto Banus Nueva Andalucia is popular with families and children because of available facilities.
The Playa de la Bajadilla is located off the Avenida Severo Ochoa next to the fishing port and is a dark sandy beach. Facilities at this Marbella Beach include deck chairs, sun loungers and parasols for hire. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by for refreshments.
The Playa del Alicate is located off the Carretera de Cadiz and is a long stretch of golden sands and crystal clear water. The Playa de Alicate is popular with tourists and is located on the Elviria side of Marbella. The Playa de Alicate has a good range of cafes, bars, restaurants, bars and shops as well as a Marbella Beach Club.
Other Marbella beaches worth a mention include the quiet Casablanca Beach can be found on the outskirts of Marbella as one comes from Puerto Banus. El Faro Beach is a small beach next to the port of Marbella and has showers. Venus Beach can be found close to the Marbella Sports Port. El Cable Beach is popular for games of football. Los Monteros Beach is close to the Monteros Urbanisation and next to the Playa Pinillo. Zaragoza Beach has two chiringuitos. Vivero Beach is located next to the Elviria Urbanisation and is a very quiet beach. Puente Romano Beach is located between the Don Carlos Hotel and the Hotel Puente Romano. Las Canas Beach is located near Artola.
Outside of Marbella is San Pedro de Alcantra is the Playa Linda which is a pebbled beach with dark sand. The Playa del Cortijo Blanco is at the far end of San Pedro de Alcantara. The beaches of Las Chapas, Artola and Calahonda are well worth a visit. The Playa Cabopino is the only nudist beach in the area.
