La Zenia

La Zenia is a pretty sea side resort on the Southern Costa Blanca. Families with children flock to La Zenia in the summer months owing to its blue flag beaches. La Zenia has two main beaches at Cala Bosque and Cala Cerrada, and it is also possible to walk to Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig and admire the views all the way to the south towards La Manga.

There are a few championship golf courses in the area and it is a requirement at some of the courses to present a handicap certificate. Leisure activities in La Zenia include horse riding, look for the hipica signs, go carting, tennis, bowls and all kinds of water sports including snorkelling and scuba diving.

Golf courses in the area include the Real Golf Club de Campoamor, the Campo de Golf Villamartin, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, Club de Golf Villamartin and the Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela.

La Zenia nightlife takes the form of live entertainment, music, dance, bingo evenings, and karaoke nights. The market in Playa Flamenca on Saturdays is a popular aspect of everyday Spanish life.

Many people like to wander over to the Cabo Roig strip which is a parade of bars. pubs and restaurants. The most popular ones to visit are the Bushwacka, Listers, Blu, Life, Bar Liquid, The Queen Vic, Diabolos, Reggie's, Bar Med and Flanagans.

La Zenia weather follows a Mediterranean climate which means that La Zenia has over three hundred days of sunshine, a year. Visitors coming to La Zenia in the summer can expect hot humid weather with no chance of rain. If you are renting a holiday home in the summer it would be better to rent one with ceiling fans and air conditioning. Autumn days in La Zenia are still very hot and the beaches and sea are still full of bathers. Spring days in La Zenia can be unpredictable; it can be hot and cold, sunny and a lot of rain can still fall. Winter in La Zenia is very mild and owing to the Mediterranean climate it does rain in winter. Accommodations in La Zenia in winter do need central heating to take off the chill in the early mornings and evenings.
