Guardamar del Segura

Guardamar del Segura is a coastal resort located on the Southern Costa Blanca nearest to the airport of El Altet just south of Alicante. Guardamar del Segura is also located north of Torrevieja and La Mata with all of its urbanisations, promenade and beaches. North of Guardamar del Segura is the Salinas del Brac del Port and the very Spanish sea side resort of Santa Pola.

Guardamar del Segura is popular with holidaymakers owing to its almost fourteen kilometre stretch of wide golden sandy blue flag beaches with all the top amenities one can expect from a first class Costa Blanca sea side resort. Running along the beaches is a natural pine forest.

Ten minutes drive inland from Guardamar del Segura is the nearest golf course which is the La Finca Golf Course in Algorfa. Rates at this eighteen hole golf course start at €52 for the day.

A Guardamar del Segura webcam is located at the Hotel Europa and gives the onlooker a good view of the beach, blue Mediterranean Sea, golden beaches, sun loungers with parasols and bathers. The webcam gives a new perspective of the Guardamar del Segura every four hours. One will also be able to see when the sun rises and sets daily and see how many daylight hours there are.

Guardamar Beaches are some of the finest on the Costa Blanca and win blue flag status every year. In the north of Guardamar del Segura is the Los Tusales Beach which is for nude bathing, and then travelling southwards are the Los Viveros Beach, De la Babilònia Beach, Playa Centro, La Roqueta Beach, El Moncayo Beach, Playa del Campo and Les Ortigues Beach. All the beaches are of the golden sandy variety with sand dunes and are surrounded by pine, palm and eucalyptus trees.

With the beaches being as long and as wide as they are they are never over crowded even during the summer months when Guardamar del Segura is at its busiest. Sun beds are available at all the beaches and they are cleaned on a daily basis. Water sports are available at Playa Centro and at Playa Roqueta.

Guardamar del Segura has three parks Parque Reina Sofia, Parque Alfonso XIII and the Parque Sur. These Parks are great places to relax with ponds with ducks and swans, peacocks and waterfalls, trails, picnic areas and enjoy some open air concerts.

In the Via Park IV Complex Guardamar are also a few restaurants including two Chinese Buffet Restaurants, the Oriental Wok Buffet. There is also the Agra Indian Restaurant, La Tabernita de Guardamar, La Terraza Pizzaria, Restaurante Chema, Cafeteria Galicia, El Padrino, La Nostra Pizza, Restaurant El Rincon de Carmen, Pil Pil, Bar Restaurant Manolo Campo, Aristz Costa, Restaurant Marjal, La Rosa and La Saranda.

There are nine Chinese restaurants in Guardamar del Segura which are Restaurante Gran China, Restaurante Chino Pato Laqueado, Restaurante Chino Internacional, Restaurante Chino Zhong Hua, Restaurante China Town, Restaurante Chino Wang Cheng, Restaurante Chino Nankin, Restaurante Chino Hong Kong and Restaurante Asiatico.

Guardamar del Segura nightlife takes place in the bars, pubs and discos which offer evening entertainment such as the Larkman 2 Bar, the Shamrock Bar, Mariner Bar, Lounge Bar 420 Beach, Dri Lounge Bar, Mediterraneo Bar, Pub Estacion Central, Bar, Bar El Siglo. Therre are three nightclubs or discotheques in Guardamar del Segura which are the Disco Bacanal, Disco Gbarlo and the Nova Club.

Guardamar del Segura weather has long hot summers with no rain and over three hundred days of sunshine a year. The winters are mild with the odd shower, while the autumn months can be as hot as the summer months but without the humidity. The spring months are variable with one day the weather being hot and the next cold again. It is at this time that most locals and expats catch the odd cold. In June the weather often is as hot as in August but being the off season it is the cheapest time to enjoy the heat of Guardamar del Segura.
