Costa Blanca Shopping

Costa Blanca markets are part of every day life for the residents living in the region. People go to the market to purchase the freshest of produce at unbeatable prices and are also able to buy products not readily available at their local supermarkets. One can expect to buy a great variety of fruits and vegetables in season, olives, nuts, cheeses, meats, hams and everything food wise that is typically Spanish such as ingredients for Spanish tapas.

Costa Blanca markets also sell seasonal clothing, gloves, coats and scarves in the winter, summer dresses, bathing costumes and towels in the summer. One can also purchase good quality footwear, handbags and purses, paintings, carpets and all kinds of useful gadgets that are handy in the kitchen. One will see the same vendors in their usual places each week, and each town, village, city and sea side resort will have their special day when the market comes to town.

At the Costa Blanca markets one is buying new merchandise as opposed to the rastro markets similar to Sunday morning car boot sales where one can grab a bargain that someone else is desperate to be rid of. Costa Blanca markets get underway early in the morning and vendors start to pack their wares away at about one in the afternoon.
