Nightlife in Alicante

Alicante is the hub on the Costa Blanca which is the gateway for about 80% of tourists entering the Costa Blanca. Alicante is also the largest city with a ferry terminal, embassies, university, hospitals, clinics and beaches. Alicante with its Santa Barbara castle, Explanada de España is a great tourist resort, and has hundreds of bars and cafés that offer regular live entertainment and with the warm climate Alicante is a city that never sleeps .

The Barrio is located in the Old Town and is one of the best places to visit at night. In The Barrio you will find a whole host of bars, taverns, cervercerias and pizza parlours. Most establishments will offer some kind of live entertainment in the form of rock music, salsa, flamenco and jazz. The most popular places to visit in the Barrio are Jamboree, La Naya, El Forat, La Mision and Nasca.

In the Puerto is a range of trendy and modern bars which cost a bit more. The most popular of these Alicante bars include Potato, Capitán Haddock, Ay Carmelo, H20 and La Biblioteca.

The Ruta Madera is where tourists and locals can experience an Alicante style bar crawl. In this more modern end of town there is a good range of pubs, high class restaurants , dance clubs, clubs and discos. This area is located between Alfonso El Sabio and the Explanada de España and the locales to visit is the Clan Cabaret, La Piedra, El Salon, Anti Doto.

The most popular discos to visit in is Pacha Alicante which is located on Calle Haroldo Parres, Di Roma, Discoal, Discoteca Z Klub, Discoteca Limusin, Fnac, Discos Merlin, Karaokefeelings, Wilson and Cool 37. The most popular bars overall are El Coscorron, La Havana and La Mision and for music head out to the Café Loft.

Right on the sea front on the Calle San Fernando is the Z Club where a smart casual dress code is required.

The most popular venues for concerts are the Plaza de Toros and the Teatro Principal de Alicante.

Just north of Alicante lies the beach resort of San Juan where in the summer months tourists and locals can enjoy music, dancing and entertainment down at the beach.

The Trensnochador is a special train that runs from nine in the evening until seven in the morning from Alicante through to Altea stopping at San Juan, El Campello, Villajoyosa and Benidorm with all of its Benidorm nightlife. Tickets for the Trensnochador include discounted tickets to the local clubs, bars and discos.

Nightlife in Alicante usually starts around midnight but mostly get very busy around one in the morning especially in the Barrio then the place to be is the port area with all the trendy modern pubs and bars.
